The research scope of International Journal of Ecological Studies focuses on frontier exploration, theoretical innovation and practical application of ecological science against the backdrop of global ecological governance, climate change response, ecological digital transformation, and interdisciplinary integration of ecology, earth sciences, environmental sciences, social sciences and artificial intelligence. It covers core areas including basic theories and disciplinary construction of modern international ecology, innovative methodologies and research paradigm reform in ecological research, the evolution of global ecological patterns and academic genealogy of ecological disciplines, cross-regional ecological comparison and global biodiversity conservation research, modern restoration and innovative inheritance of traditional ecological concepts and ecological wisdom, ecosystem structure, function and stability maintenance research, ecological ethics, environmental ethics and global ecological governance system construction, digital ecology and intelligent ecological monitoring and management application research, ecological security assessment, risk prevention and ecological disaster mitigation research, ecological civilization construction and regional sustainable development practice, research on ecological economics, environmental sociology and ecological anthropology, inheritance and innovative development of traditional Chinese ecological wisdom and ecological civilization, global climate ecology and cross-border ecological cooperation research, as well as emerging interdisciplinary sub-disciplines of ecological research.
This journal is committed to tracking the latest academic progress and research hotspots in global ecological research, exploring the multi-dimensional ecological value, social value and sustainable development value of ecological science in modern global ecological governance and environmental protection systems. It promotes the dialogue, integration and innovative development between traditional ecological concepts and modern ecological academic and practical paradigms, and expands the international vision and theoretical boundaries of ecological research. The journal aims to build a high-level international academic platform for academic exchanges, frontier discussions and achievement demonstrations in the field of ecological research, construct a communication bridge for global ecological academic cooperation and Sino-foreign ecological cultural and technical exchanges, advance interdisciplinary integration and innovative development of ecological research, guide the green and sustainable transformation of global social and economic development, improve the construction level of global ecological civilization, and enhance the international influence and academic discourse power of Chinese ecological research and traditional ecological wisdom.

IJES is a fully open access journal that provides immediate and permanent free access to all published content for all users worldwide without requiring any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal publishing rights. We support responsible scholarly sharing by permitting authors to deposit preprints in any repository without embargo and postprints immediately upon publication. This sustainable model maintains the highest standards of peer review and editorial quality while eliminating financial barriers to knowledge dissemination.
